Factor XPTO: It's time to hit the TAU!

TAU! is a project born out of the intersection between a pulsating artistic vein and a passion for tasting good wine. The joint venture of four friends from Barcelos: Filipe Lemos, Hugo Milhazes, Jorge Carvalho and José Paulo Castro, TAU! is a wine that leaves no one indifferent. Every year, a team is brought in to harvest the grapes, which, in each edition, come from different vineyards, different grape varieties and different batches, producing a distinctive signature for each bottle. Don’t be fooled, this departure from the more classic canons doesn’t affect its high quality. TAU! wines are, above all, a reflection of the excellence of the vineyards and their grapes - a selection made with special attention to the absence of herbicides and a preference for the most sustainable practices. The winemaking process is carried out with equal expertise, treating each parcel separately and with particular care, at the mercy of indigenous yeasts and free of (any) oenological additives. A detailed process whose irreverence not only hits the palate at the moment of tasting TAU!, but also reaches and affects the eyes of those who encounter it.
For each edition, an artist is invited to select a new bottle that will give shape to the wine, as well as to design an original label that at no point has to try to match what has been done before. With contributions from Hugo Oliveira (2021), Rita Laranja (2022), Catarina Real and Gonçalo Duarte (2023), TAU! has also been carving out a path for itself as a disruptor in the art scene. On every level, this is a daring initiative that can only be held by those who know that the irreverence of this Vinho Verde conquers both the stomach and the spirit of the daring - TAU!
