Factor XPTO: 500 years of expertise in winemaking, restless attitude, old traditions, kind of “wine archaeology”.
Quinta de Paços is a family-run company already in its 16th generation (and 500 years) of wine making, awarded as far as in 1874 (USA). Wines made exclusively from its own grapes located in two distinct sub-regions in Minho: Cávado and Monção. It aims to produce wines that reflect the specific characteristics of its terroirs, grape varieties and soils, seeking a low-intervention approach, certified as sustainable (integrated production). More recently, the family researched and recovered many of the ancestral forms of wine production in the region, eschewing the paradigm of the region’s “young, light and fresh” wines. These wines are, thus, a way of transmitting a way of life, and of recovering centuries-old cultures and traditions.
