XPTO Factor: “Don’t shake my Pet!”

Lapati Wines was born in 2015. Vincent Jullien and Guillaume Gouerou, both directors, had met a few years before, in the Art Villa Garikula, thanks to Karaman Kutateladze. Vincent was there to condutc his first experiments of natural sparkling wine with the grapes from the village and Guillaume was there as an artist, invited within the international festival of contemporary art. The sometimes over-subtle discussions slowly made their way towards a common desire to build a long-lasting project.

They mutualized money and knowledge, with the aim of making wine in a natural and environment-friendly way, without putting aside the technical aspect of the art of making Qvevri wine, in Georgia, the world’s cradle of wine. For quite a long time they have been looking for a place to start, all around Georgia, and it was finally in Sagarejo, in Kakheti, that they established their Marani, in a former house on the heights of the city in August, 2015. Since then they never stop experimenting, mixing Georgian and French culture of wine, to be able to find and share the wine they love.

They are currently making 6 different wines and producing around 10 000 bottles a year.
They were pioners in the production of Péttilant Naturel in Georgia. They named their pet’nat “Kidev Erti”, which means ” one more ” in Georgian and sounds like ” qui divertit ” in French which means literally ” what entertains “.
So have one more glass of natural wine and enjoy a sparkling life!
