“Beauty is a manifestation of secret natural laws, which otherwise would have been hidden from us forever.” Johann W. von Goethe

Fedellos do Couto is Jesus and Curro, a friendship winery located in Galicia between the Bibei and Sil river between the regions of Valdeorras, Ribeira Sacra and Viana do Bolo. Started with the first vintage in 2013. We cultivate vineyards on terraces and high slopes, many indigenous varieties, all the work is manual. Valdeorras and Ribeira Sacra have a humid Mediterranean climate over granite, schist and gneis soils. We elaborate without additions of yeasts, bacteria, without processes of clarification, stabilization, etc. We make the wines in a beautiful traditional cave located in Seadur.

The wines:
As Xaras. Village of Chandoiro and Larouco. Bibei River. We make about 5000 bottles. 100% Mencia. Young vines at 650 meters and old vines at 550 meters. of the Xares River (tributary of the Bibei) on both banks. Mainly granitic and metamorphic soils of schists with quartzite.
Lomba dos Ares. Village council of Manzaneda. Bibei River. We make about 6000 bottles. It is a wine from several very old vineyards located along the Bibei River in different parishes (villages), with granite, schist and gneiss soils. These old vines, 60-80 years old, are planted in goblet in the traditional style, with all the white and red varieties planted in retort, mixed haphazardly in the traditional style. You mainly have Mouratón, Mencía, Garnacha Tintorera and Grao Negro among many others.
Conasbrancas. Village council of Manzaneda. Bibei River. We make about 4000 bottles. They are the same vineyards as Lomba dos Ares, but the white varietals are mainly Dona Branca, Godello and Colgadeira among others.
Testoiro. Soutipedre village. Bibei River. We make about 1000 bottles. Wine from the town of Soutipedre. Old vines 60-80 years old at 450 meters high, mainly Dona Branca, Godello and Colgadeira varietals. Soils of slaty schist and gneiss.
Bastarda. Bibei River. Chandoiro and other towns. We make about 5000 bottles a. It is a mono-varietal Bastardo wine that comes from vineyards on the Bibei River, young vines and some old vines. Mainly granitic soils.
Os Bidueiros. Seadur village. Rivers between the Bibei and the Sil. We make about 4000 bottles. Old vines 60-80 years old. It came from the village of Seadur. Granitic soils. gobelette conducted strains. Height 500m. Mainly Mencía, Sumoll and Garnacha Tintorera.
EIXE. Corgomo village. Sil river. We make about 3000 bottles. Varietal wine from the Valdeorras region. Young vineyards less than 20 years old. Trellised vines. Slate and alluvial soils with boulders. South facing in the town of Córgomo. Height 500 meters. Eadem mutata resurfaced, mutable and permanent resurfaced being the same. The idea of this elaboration is to recover, in spirit, the traditional red wines that were produced in the Valdeorras region before the phylloxera plague where the Merenzao, Albarello and Negreda varieties predominated, written by José Miramontes 1860.
Camandula. Corgomo village. Sil river. We make about 3000 bottles. It is a mainly Sousón wine with some Albarello from a 20-year-old vineyard in the town of Córgomo. Slate and alluvial soils with boulders.

Peixes wines are located in the Viana do Bolo area, this area is not within any Denomination of Origin. To locate yourself, follow the Bibei river upstream beyond the D.O.s of Ribeira Sacra and Valdeorras. We have vineyards between 600 – 800 meters high, cultivated on terraces, which mixed with a continental climate with Atlantic influence make for very cold conditions for grape production. It is an area in which historically it was considered that the grape did not ripen, “that it does not give enough degree”. The result is surprising, and our goal is to express this terroir, although it matures much later and the risk of frost is greater. Most of the soils are granitic with a high content of mica and orange quartz.
Peixe da Estrada. It is the wine of the village of Viana do Bolo They are old vines of about 70 years, on terraces, pruned in little bush, of Mouratón, Mencía, Garnacha Tintorera, Grao Negro, Dona Branca and Godello among others. Mostly granitic soils. We have decided to make the wines as white and red varietals were traditionally made, all together there is approximately 10% white varietals.
Peixes da Rocha. Inside the village de Viana do Bolo two plots from the Parishes of Punxeiro and Santa Mariña de Froixais, which is the area that we like the most in Viana. It is the highest, coldest and most extreme area. They are also old vines that are about 70 years old, on terraces, conducted by goblet, from Mouratón, Mencía, Garnacha Tintorera, Grao Negro, Dona Branca and Godello, among others. Granitic soils with a high mica content that make very spongy and pleasant soils for cultivation by hand…
