THEMANUS, is a band that Afonso Silva started with the intent to explore his musical ideas. Quickly the band grew strong musical connections, therefore everyone eventually contributed to the compositions.

The trio explores compositional ideas that pass through written music to completely improvised parts. As a trio, THEMANUS had to be creative in the use of the instruments to fully capture the music that they wanted to make, as of this which member plays a kind of expanded set of their instruments, the saxophonist plays with a synth, the guitar player makes use of pedals and the drummer carries more snares and cymbals.

With a background in jazz, this trio travels through different genres like, Drum ‘n’ Bass, ambient and boom bap.
