Quinta do Infantado has a long history since it was created in 1816. Yes!, its first 200 years were celebrated in 2016!

Established for the Infante D. Pedro (hence its name), belongs to the Roseira family for more than a century. It is located 4 km from Pinhão, in the unique terroir of the Gontelho Valley, micro-region long known for the quality of its wines.

46 hectares of vines, 100% letter A, like a Grand Cru. Organic viticulture in 12ha and sustainable in the other 34 ha. Selection massale of more than 20 Douro grapes, between white and red, planted in all the expositions and different altitudes. Thanks to this diversity, Quinta do Infantado manages to make, without manipulation, so many different wines.

Quinta do Infantado is a real wine estate. Based on the concepts of terroir and vigneron, Quinta do Infantado innovated in 1979 by becoming the first estate bottled Porto, in the Douro, thus breaking the monopoly of the négociants of Vila Nova de Gaia.

At Infantado, Portos are fermented longer than everyone else, so there is less residual sugar (and more natural alcohol and, therefore, less brandy added) and the character of the wine can be appreciated. This singular philosophy of Infantado makes for Portos that are vinous and light, so a better choice for the table. 2001 was the first vintage of DOC Douro dry wine. Today, there are four cuvées of dry red wines, with sun and freshness: Quinta do Infantado, Organic Quinta do Infantado, Roseira and Quinta do Infantado Reserva. Quinta do Infantado in short: balance, freshness, terroir and elegance.

There are three touristic programs to unfold all the secrets of this historic estate.
