Constantina Sotelo

Constantina Sotelo takes charge of the family vineyards in 1985, standing vineyards planted in the privileged Valley of Salnés a few meters from the Ría de Arousa, in Castrelo (Cambados).

Constantine Sotelo has contact with wine since childhood, this is where her particular love story with wine begins thanks to the knowledge and experiences transmitted by her ancestors.

With 2.5 hectares of albariño vineyard, in 1999 he made the leap and created a small garage where he made albariño wines with a very particular character. In 2010, new vinifications were born without intervention, producing very unique Albariño wines.

Constantina Sotelo personally takes care of the tasks to be carried out in the vineyard through precision viticulture, strain by strain. Manual work and with the minimum possible intervention to achieve viticulture that respects the environment and under the lunar calendar.

Constantina Sotelo recovers chestnut barrels in its cellar for the most traditional elaborations and begins to work with deposits of different shapes and textures such as terracotta amphorae, stoneware amphoras, spherical white earth amphorae, terra-cotta bottles, concrete egg. These unique elaborations are marked by each wine, so the choice of each deposit and the time spent in them is marked by the wine itself, so it will depend on it and each vintage that its passage through the winery win structure and complexity.

The albariños of Constantina Sotelo may not be perfect, but if you are clear about the honesty expressed by their wines, which are the true reflection of their vineyards.
