Factor XPTO: Villa Seara is an experience still in its first trial! It’s granitic soil and altitude are the XP factors, the hardwork and boldness are the TO factors.

Villa Seara is a project that began in 2021 with the implementation of the first hectares of vineyards by Sofia and Martin. This Portuguese-Italian couple met in California and after some oenological experiences in the Old and New World, they decided that it was in the small Minho village of Bast o -São Clemente – that they would fulfil their dream of producing their first nectars.

As it is a project for life, these couple of (now called) farmers maintain three types of sustainability: social through the sense of community and of traditions appreciation; environmental, defending organic farming and the production of wines with low oenological intervention; as well as the economic aspect represented by additional investment in old houses for touristic purposes.

Currently the project has 6 hectares of vineyard located between 400-600 m and has 3 wines: Villa Seara de Avesso, Villa Seara Rosé de Padeiro and Villa Seara Tinto de Padeiro.
The vignerons’ hope is to surprise with the wines and increase the curiosity of those who taste them to visit to the village of Basto – São Clemente.
