Esmero wines is one peculiar project; its essence is based in the immense care that the owner and winemaker Rui Soares applies to each wine. Produced in this company founded in 2002, this producer has been making wine from his family property for three generations, in different locations, where one can find not only schist but also granite soils. This is something very special in the region. This limited production of wines uses exclusively the local varieties from Douro, some of them being very rare nowadays.
